Tulum Cenote Guide

August 17, 2025 Adelaide Matte

Tulum Cenote Guide

One thing about me is that if there is a gorgeous body of water in my area, I am gettingn in it! I absolutely love the free feeling of swimming and the cleansing affects.

I have been to Tulum 3 times and have been to over a dozen Cenotes. I feel qualified to share my top 5 Centotes you must visit when traveling to Tulum. We are avoiding tourist traps and swimming like the locals on this list, so take note! There is one man made Cenote on this list that is just so cool for photos. I also added a bonus Lagoon where you are transported to crystal clear waters and amazing vibes.

Cenote Corazon Del Paraiso - Tulum, Mexico

Cenote Corazón del Paraíso

This spot has everything you would want from a Cenote. It is a natral pool with a jumping platform, tons of fish, and plenty of spots to set up a picnic or tan. This one is off the beaten path and more remote. You will not have cell service. But with everything in Tulum I suggest you download the 10 square miles around the area on Google Maps before trying to navigate yourself anywhere.

I persoanlly loved this Cenote because of the name, this is because from above it is shaped like a heart, or Corazon!

Gran Cenote

Absolutley love this spot. I recommend going early in the morning to avoid the busier time. There are so many turtles and an underwater cave you can swim through to get to another area of the cenote. This one is more popular but is also the closest to Tulum town. I think it is a great spot to go in the morning. Beware they do not allow sunscreen and make you rinse off your body before you go in, which can be quite cold.

Atik Tulum Park

This is the one man made Cenote park that I needed to include. It is so beautiful.

Cenote Car Wash

Cenote Tankah

This is definitely a well kept secret for the locals. It has two Cenotes. One that is actually attached to the ocean and one down a secret path. What makes it so special? The range of swimming spots. This also has a beach bar and lounges you can rent. I think this is definitely a destination where you can hang out for the day.

Laguna de Kaan Luum

This spot screams Sunday afternoon reset with friends. There is a long dock that people hang out on with a restaurant and bar.
